There is an old adage, which goes’’one man with confidence can make a majority” it is very apt in the case of Dr.  D.Y. Patil . there is no areas in the fields of education in the state which has been untouched by him from  establishing schools, imparting basic education , providing a large number of institutions of higher learning to the people . the Ramrao Adik institute of technology in Navi Mumbai established twenty-five years ago and the krishi  Vigyan Kendra in Kolhapur bear a testimony to this fact . the recently formed University at Nerul Campus is a jewel in his crown . Luminaries like Dr. Patil are best remembered by their work, not by the recognition and awards they win. Still , a mention has to be made of the padmashree award accorded to him by the president of for his undoubtedly huge contribution in the fired if education as well as of the honorary Doctorate adorned on him by the Nottingham Trent University, He is devoted follower of  “shri saint Gajanan Maharaj ‘ of shegaon.
